PERSONAL PROBLEMS
Sometimes students are not being successful in the classroom due to factors outside of school. These could be drug or drug related activities, working too many hours, pregnancy, depression, health issues, peer issues, or family situations.
Any problems students are having should be made known to the counselors. Counselors can help determine how a student can deal with school while the personal problem is being resolved. These problems can remain hidden for only so long. The longer these problems are hidden usually more school problems arise. A counselor is trained in helping students in these kinds of situations. If more help is needed the counselor has access to outside agencies that can provide further assistance.
